Too little for too much.
Short Story:
I really wanted to like this Program. Really.
But sadly, I stick with it not because I am happy with it, but because I started with it, and it is a devil I know.
Long Story:
Nice try, but needs some more polishing: Combine the cost of the OSX App and the iOS App with the quirks of the application that include, but are not limited to:
- Not automatically consistently refreshing totals,
- lack of WYSIWIG editor for custom reports
- lack of rule set up or scripting (Talking about if— that…. then….. that type of stuff to make manual entries easier) which I would absolutely expect for an app that charges me twice)
- The autofill that is included being obtrusive to the point where I had to switch it off
- Some limitations in the smart group filtering (try editing filters: it will lose settings in the process, inability to add boolean exclusion (NOT) ),
- Some field entries not propagating to the reports (e.g. Approach 2 and forthfollwoing don’t make it into any of the included report templates)
….to name a few, and then asking me: „Do you love this app?“ led me to say: „I mereley tolerate it“.
One word on the promised „Fanatic Customer Support“: While competent, polite, and helpful, do not expect quick turnaround.
Sorry. I wish I could write a glowing review, but I can’t.
If I had the energy to start over with a different logbook solution, I quite probably would. You, dear reader, may give it a whirl and possibly find it acceptable.
It may be the logbook solution for anyone else, for me it is hard to swallow in its current state.
My advice is:
1) Try many solutions before you buy any of the solutions on the market.
2) Always keep at least 2 backups. Plainly keeping your logbook in hosted storage aka „The Cloud“ does not count as backup.
