LogTen Pilot Log App Reviews

organization focused on ripping off its clients time and time. You buy a pricey app. Months later the app will be discontinued/replaced and you will no longer be provided updates/support/ability to reinstall/download the app again forcing you to repurchase and go through this cycle every year. Recently they wizened renaming this same cycle an annual subscription. App itself is buggy. Another case of spending more on marketing and less on the actual product.

How Disappointed ….

Just to express a very big disapointment and total change of direction from this company which so far was great ! A great software , a very good team to support customers which was worth to spend over 120 euros for the full suite (Macbook, and Ipad/Iphone apps) ! Now Yosemite is out , no more Icloud support on the older version , us customers paid to have this feature in the Logten 6 which we cannot use anymore and the whole business model is changing to become another company trying to pump money out of his customers ! The app I am sure is great but a ridiculous 50 % discount for existing users is far from being enough in my opinion …. Hope they wont continue going down this road , otherwise they might put their reputation at risk ! Gambling with fire ….

It’s the third time I pay over 130$ for this app. As an old customer I agree to pay for a service but not that price. A good discount for old user would be a good idea !!

Sorry, that’s the wrong way

Really disappointed by the way Coradine goes. As many user, I only use very few options from all the (hundred) options available, but the application is really nice (sorry, was really nice), good interaction between iPad, iPhone, and mac. But to only have the sync option, I have to pay a subscription (the logbook isn’t even saved on Coradine server!), no. I’m turning on the wifi sync option and I lose one of the most interesting option of Logten Pro, but Coradine is loosing a customer, even with the new option from today (half buy, half subscription).

Cash machine

As many previous reports of users, I am very disapointed of being force to pay again to keep the sync between my devices and my computer. So I still use LogTen Pro 6 but I have lost the iCloud sync and have to sync via wifi that is less useful. I wonder how it is even legal to decrease the functonality of an app already bought…

Thieves

Very good app but they are robbing you. Go away!!!!

good product but wrong way.

Sharing data via icloud is "not really" your product but just an utilization of apple development. we are in 2014... Really too expensive just to use iCloud drive, ridicoulous to my mind. It’s JUST a logbook, not an essential app, it doesn’t help aircraft flying! Keep your money for hours or training purposes is a better idea. Enjoy your flights,

No way !

Previous version was expensive and I bought it no so long ago to work with iCloud sync. Sync wont work any more with Yosemite and iCloud Drive. And they want me to buy a new version (in which I can see no major improvement, only a new design) and pay a yearly subscription ? No way ! Bye bye LogTen.

Sync

In general the app is good, although the syncing has always been an issue. Recently, doing my syncing i dont know what happened but every thing now appears three times, i have three colums of Date, Flight Nr and etc., I’ve sent an email to the support but no answer was given to me. This app is expensive, and shouldnt be having issues like this. I’ve been using Log Ten Pro for the past 5 years at least, and i must confess i’m kind of disappointed now.

What the h...

Well I’m quite irritated . Ive paid for the MAC license - fair enough. I’ve paid for the iPhone license - fair enough. I refused to pay for the iPad license since I’ll have hoped for a universal license. It came out but you wanted the full price. NOW you come up with a warning: don’t use LogTenPro with Yosemite, it will erase … something. Couple of days later you are presenting a full new software and suddenly you not even want money for the upgrade, you want money every year. And where I can find the prize? Is it 30 Euros per year or is that the reduced price and you actually want 60Euros a year. Guy’s, you have a fantastic product and it helps me quite a bit. And I’m not this kind of person who thinks software should be for free. But your information policy to your customers is suboptimal -again- and I can’t help it but I fell quite taken for a ride

I guess i paid enough

I know that a flight log app is quite a fancy programm and that there are not a lot of users around the world who need that. So you need need to earn your money with just a few downloads but now they get redicilous. I just try to safe my data and export it to another app!

Keeps Crashing

Beside the fact that the new model is too expensive, I really liked to work with Log Ten. But currently the Mac App is crashing every time I try to sync. It started with crashing while trying to sync via iCloud, so I had to do it with WiFi, but now its crashing every time while syncing. I already lost my data on the Mac, I still got it on to iOS devices and hope I can sometime bring them back on the Mac.

Still the best

LogTen is still the best Logbook software out there. Most negative comments are purely because of the way they introduced the subscription modell. Don’t get fooled that the app is bad by itself. I am not a fan of the price model either. However, I checked out the competition and came back to LogTen very quick. My advice: Get some iTunes gift cards when they are on promotion and by the three years subscription. Made it relatively cheap for me. Useing the app: Logging of flight time is super easy on the phone / mac and gets synced (most of the time) seamless. I do log a lot of legs every day and the copy function does a great job. You can print or export your logbook however you want. If the desired format is not available, the support staff is always there to help you out. Speaking of it: Support is second to none! Its not perfect though and can have a steep learning curve at the beginning. But I still do recommend it to erveryone. Better to invest once a bit more then being annoyed everytime you use the logbook...

Crashes on data import. Don’t like the pricing model.

Awful. LogTen Pro Version 6 stops working with Yosemite: syncing with the iOS app may delete you data, so I’m obligated to upgrade to LogTen Pro X. I dislike the new subscription model. I don’t need a bunch of fancy new features that I pay for every year. I just want to record my flight times and sync between my iPhone and Mac. I head out on a multiday pairing tomorrow, so I decide to pay for the discounted upgrade for a one year subscription, then I have a year to come up with an alternative app. I install this application but it crashes when I try to import my data from the previous version. Repeat: crash again. The only good thing is that I haven’t paid for that subscription yet. Sorry Coradine: fail.

Subscription?!?

It all seemed good until I saw the word “subscription”. I guess all the money I paid for the previous Mac and iphone versions was for nothing. By the way, the previous versions don’t work with iOS 8 and you can’t sync anyome with icloud drive. Too bad… they had a good thing going before this debacle!

You Lost Another Long Term Customer

I only downloaded Log Ten Pro X in order to write this review. I have been a long time supporter of LogTen Pro and been a customer since LTP 3, even during the times I had to RE-PURCHASE the LogTen Pro 6, because Coradine no longer supported LTP 5 updates on the new Apple OS. I must say guys, that I am extremely disappointed with your new subscription model. In the past I’ve bought individual apps for my Mac, my Ipad and Iphone before you merged them. I have spent a lot of money over the years upgrading and I don’t believe you’ve always had the customer in mind when going to new versions of your software (us having to pay for essentially the whole app over and over again). I am going to load up an old MacBook I have and install Mavericks on it and use it to update my logbook. I will not support your company any longer as you have become greedy and with no consideration for your customer. I would strongly have you reconsider your business model, and I can tell you all of my colleagues that use your program are dissatisfied with this new subscription model as well. EXTREMELY DISSAPPOINTED...

Pricing aside—a good upgrade

I’m surprised at LogTen’s current low rating, so I felt compelled to post my own take. Logten Pro X is still, for my money, the best logbook app you’ll find on the Mac OS (probably on any platform). I’ve been a customer since version 1.0, and Coradine did a good job updating the app for Yosemite; it runs well, it looks great, it imported my logbook (3500 hours and counting, from my private all the way through to my current airline job) without any issues, and it synced over to my iPhone with no hiccups. So I’m happy with that. I was slightly less happy about the subscription model, but when I stopped to consider how much I spent upgrading under the old pricing model, the sub seems a little less offensive. I’m not convinced I’d be pulling the trigger at the ‘full price’ of $70/year—but the reduced pricing available right now is tempting. I’m not quite sure how the pricing works, either. From what I’ve seen so far, the Mac app is completely free…so if you’re only updating your logbook on your computer, it seems that you can upgrade to this new version with very little risk (keep the old version around just in case). If you want to sync back and forth between the iPhone/iPad version and your computer, you have to buy the subscription (currently $35, only accessible through the iOS App Store). I haven’t seen anything quite like it before, but I’ll ride that pony as long as it’s around. I would definitely recommend LogTen Pro X for that price, but I would encourage Coradine to think very carefully about pricing an annual subscription at twice that. I think most reasonable people would concede that subscriptions are far better from a revenue stream point of view—but effectively pricing LogTen at $310 based on your historical once-every-three years major update cycle would be a tough pill to swallow, even for professional pilots. In conclusion: great software, unpopular pricing model. Keep that in mind if you’re trying to figure out which logbook software best suits you.

greedy company

Having purchased this program 2 or 3 times previously, I have had enough of not only supporting, but of personally sponsoring this company. While the app does a reasonable job at what it is supposed to do, it simply is not worth what they are charging. Their self-justification works just fine for them, but not well enough to keep me as a customer. Coradine has not recognized what the concept of an “app” is, nor the pricing structure that typically goes along with it. The reality is that they are competing against a paper logbook, which after the multiple crashes, lengthy discussions with tech support, and after ultimately giving up on several of the features of the app, the paper logbook is really appealing…and MUCH cheaper. Oh…and each “upgrade” not only costs money but in my case has seriously jeopardized the integrity of my logbook data. Adios Coradine…you have lost yet another influential customer.

Horrible

I used to be a big supporter and promote Coradine to my airline colleagues, but never again. Have spent hundreds of dollars on various upgrades now only to lose the functionality I had paid for, and basically be held hostage under the new subscription model. Coradine I hope you are reading these reviews as well as the ones on social media. Your company is slipping into the abyss. Cora who?

Worst company ever

now it is subcription based! Enough is enough! Switching over….
